Agenda:
18h30 – 18u45: Welcome
18h45 – 19u30: Zero to Hero with Azure Virtual WAN by Derek Smith
Azure Virtual WAN is becoming the standard to centralize network management and configuration for those Adopting Azure Enterprise Scale LZs. Learn how to deploy, scale and operationalize this powerful global scale networking tool.
19h30 – 20h15: Designing and building Microsoft Endpoint Manager for Operations by Kenneth van Surksum (Microsoft Enterprise Mobility MVP)
In my work as a modern workplace consultant, I see a lot of Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune environments. Many of these environments have been build based on trial and therefore it lacks structure and overview. Most of the environments have been built from scratch, adding and removing functionality until a point was reached where the solution was taken into production.
A solution that works, doesn’t necessarily have to be a solution which is consistent and therefore easily manageable.
This session will help you to create a consistent MEM environment, by introducing consistency. You can only build such an environment if you know the pros and cons of the solution and the product. Kenneth will share his experiences with the audience using both slides and demos.
20h15 – 20h30: Break
20h30 – 22h00: Azure Governance Best Practices and Enterprise-Scale by Gregor Riemling (Microsoft Azure MVP) and Thomas Naunheim (Microsoft Azure MVP)
In the past, Microsoft published many documentations and white papers for adoption of Azure in enterprise environments. This includes Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Well Architecture Framework. Alongside of an overview of those whitepaper, we will show some hands-on and live-demos to manage your cloud environment. In particular, Azure Policy, Azure Security Center and Azure Advisors will helps you to enforce your policies across compliance and security.
In the second part of the session, we will give you an overview about the „Enterprise-Scale“ reference architecture. This enables you to build landing zone(s) that represents the strategic design path and follows design principles of critical design for shared services (e.g. identity, network,..).
Furthermore it includes learnings from previous engineering engagements and provide architecture design pattern from Microsoft.
Various reference implementations allows to deploy (modular) templates depending on customer needs such as kind of connectivity (cloud-only, Hub/Spoke, vWAN).
In this session I like to introduce the “Enterprise-scale” architecture and some of the included aspects, considerations or approaches. A particular focus will be on security best practices.
